Pro-Road Global supplies cationic bitumen emulsions to Brazil, with sea delivery to the ports of Pecém, Santos, Paranaguá and Manaus.
Pro-Road manufactures CRS-1, CRS-2, CSS-1 and CSS-1h emulsions, polymer-modified grades, and the PRIM-18, PRIS-74, PRP-98 and PRSS-94 product lines. We deliver to four Brazilian ports. Sea transit takes 7 days to Pecém, 9 to Santos, 10 to Paranaguá and 14 to Manaus. Every grade ships from our own Colombian plants with its technical datasheet. Below you will find the grade table and delivery times for each port. The page also covers the documentation Brazil projects typically request.
Product range
Which emulsion grades are available in Brazil?
The grades available are conventional CRS and CSS types, polymer-modified versions, and Pro-Road’s own sealant lines. Each product is described in full on our bitumen emulsions page. Setting speed decides the use. Rapid grades break on contact and suit spray work. Slow grades stay workable for mixing.
| Grade | Line | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| CRS-1 | Conventional cationic, rapid setting | Surface treatment and tack coat |
| RR-1C | Conventional cationic, rapid setting | Surface treatment and tack coat |
| CRS-2 | Conventional cationic, rapid setting | Surface treatment where higher viscosity is needed |
| RR-2C | Conventional cationic, rapid setting | Surface treatment where higher viscosity is needed |
| CSS-1 | Conventional cationic, slow setting | Slurry seal, fog seal, and priming |
| RL-1C | Conventional cationic, slow setting | Slurry seal, fog seal, and priming |
| CSS-1h | Conventional cationic, slow setting | Tack coat and slurry with hard base asphalt |
| CQS-1h | Conventional cationic, controlled rapid setting | Slurry seal where traffic must return quickly |
| CRS-1m, CRS-2m, CSS-1hm | Polymer-modified cationic | Heavy traffic and demanding wearing courses |
| PRIM-18 | Modified liquid sealant | Surface treatment (TSD) wearing surfaces |
| PRIS-74 | Conventional liquid sealant | Surface treatment (TSD) wearing surfaces |
| PRP-98 | Primer | Adhesion coat before the first TSD layer |
| PRSS-94 | Slow-setting slurry emulsion | Slurry seal, supplied with mix design support |
Pro-Road also supplies RR-1C, RR-2C and RL-1C under Brazil’s ANP nomenclature. Pro-Road’s own product codes stay the primary reference for every order.
Delivery
How does delivery to Brazil work?
Delivery works by container sea freight to the discharge port you choose. Pro-Road serves four Brazilian ports, each with its own sea transit time.
| Port | Sea transit |
|---|---|
| Pecém | 7 days |
| Santos | 9 days |
| Paranaguá | 10 days |
| Manaus | 14 days |
Your quote confirms the schedule for your order.
Delivery to Brazil follows these commercial terms:
- Packaging. Emulsions in drums or IBC totes. Asphalt cement in drums or big bags.
- Minimum order. Emulsions from 16 MT, one full 20-foot container. Asphalt cement from 24 MT, one full 40-foot container.
- Storage. Emulsions keep for one year in their original packaging. Store them in a cool dry place, in the shade, below 45 °C.
Applications
Which emulsion grades fit Brazil’s road programmes?
The best fits are CRS grades for surface treatment and tack coats, and CSS grades for slurry seal. Polymer-modified grades cover heavy-traffic corridors.
DNIT manages 55,000 km of federal highways in Brazil. Emulsion technical specifications follow ANP. The federal Novo PAC programme allocated R$96.6 billion to highways between 2023 and 2026. The share of the federal network in good condition rose from 50% to 75% between December 2022 and December 2024.

Mill-and-resurfacing overlays need a tack coat between layers. CRS-1 or CSS-1h cover that step. Surface treatments and slurry seals extend road life between repaves. PRIM-18 and PRSS-94 are made for that work. Our chip seal guide explains the full double surface treatment method.
Emulsions also suit maintenance in variable weather. In the Amazon region, the rainy season runs from mid-December to mid-May. In the Northeast, the dry season brings temperatures above 38 °C. Emulsions apply cold and need no hot-mix plant on site.
Why Pro-Road
Why buy emulsions for Brazil from Pro-Road Global?
You should buy from Pro-Road Global because it controls quality, price and logistics from plant to port:
Documentation
What quality documentation comes with each shipment?
Each shipment comes with the technical datasheet for its grade. Pro-Road production follows AASHTO norms and is certified by ONAC laboratory testing. Every batch traces back to our own plants.
Datasheets for each product line are on our datasheets page. Ask for the datasheet of any grade with your quote request.
Commercial terms
What commercial terms does Pro-Road offer?
Pro-Road supplies Brazil on CIF or CFR terms to the discharge port you choose. Your quote states the incoterm, freight and delivery window.
Standard payment is in advance. Qualifying buyers can request 50% in advance and 50% against the bill of lading. Approval depends on the company profile and credit record.
FAQ
What do buyers ask most about emulsion supply to Brazil?
Buyers most often ask about delivery time, order size and how the product is applied.
How long does delivery to Brazil take?
Sea transit time varies by discharge port. Pecém takes 7 days, Santos 9 days, Paranaguá 10 days and Manaus 14 days. Your quote confirms the schedule for your order.
What is the minimum order quantity?
The minimum order is 16 MT of emulsion, one full 20-foot container. Asphalt cement starts at 24 MT, one full 40-foot container.
How long can emulsion be stored on site?
Emulsions keep for one year in their original drums or IBC totes. Store them in a cool dry place, in the shade, below 45 °C.
Do you supply polymer-modified emulsions?
Yes, we supply CRS-1m, CRS-2m and CSS-1hm polymer-modified grades. They are made for heavy traffic and demanding wearing courses.
Can emulsion be applied without a hot-mix plant?
Yes, emulsions apply cold. They can be heated to 60 °C for extra fluidity when a job needs it.
Where can I find the datasheets?
Datasheets for each grade are on our datasheets page, and every shipment carries the datasheet for the grade it contains.
Can we appoint our own inspector?
Yes. Pro-Road accepts third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or a similar body at your request. The inspection is quoted and billed separately.
Do you supply cold mix asphalt?
Yes. Pro-Road produces cold mix for patching and road maintenance. Supply is in container volumes for contractors and municipalities. State your volume and destination port in your request.
