Pro-Road Global supplies penetration-grade bitumen and asphalt cement in Peru. PEN 60/70 and PEN 85/100 deliver to Callao in 7 days.
Pro-Road manufactures PEN 60/70 and PEN 85/100 penetration-grade bitumen. Weekly sailings deliver to Callao year-round. Every grade ships from our own plants with its technical datasheet. Below you will find the grade table, delivery details for Callao, and the documentation Peru projects ask for.
Product range
Which penetration grades are available in Peru?
The grades available are PEN 60/70 and PEN 85/100 penetration-grade bitumen. Grade codes that link through open that grade’s datasheet.
| Grade | Type | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| PEN 60/70 | Penetration-grade bitumen, medium | General hot-mix paving on the coastal corridor, the most widely used grade |
| PEN 85/100 | Penetration-grade bitumen, soft | Hot mix in the Andean sierra and other high-altitude areas |
For cold-applied surface work, Pro-Road also supplies bitumen emulsions for Peru.
Liquid asphalt
Does Pro-Road supply RC-250 liquid asphalt in Peru?
Yes. Pro-Road manufactures cutback asphalts, including RC-250, a rapid-curing liquid asphalt. A cutback is asphalt cement blended with solvent, so it applies cold and cures as the solvent evaporates.
RC-250 is used for prime and tack coats. The surface takes the binder without site heating equipment. State your volume and destination port when you request a quote.
How does it differ from asphalt cement?
Asphalt cement arrives solid in big bags and is melted before use. Liquid asphalt arrives fluid and applies cold. Cutbacks ship in 200 kg steel drums or in an isotainer.
Delivery
How does delivery to Peru work?
Delivery works by container sailings to Callao. Sea transit takes 7 days.
Your quote confirms the sailing schedule and door-to-site timing for your order.
Penetration-grade bitumen and asphalt cement ship in big bags of 1000 to 1300 kg, or in drums. The minimum order is 24 MT, one full 40-foot container.
Melting
How do you melt bitumen from big bags?
You melt bitumen by heating the whole bag in a melting unit. Bags are charged whole, so nobody cuts, breaks or shovels solid binder by hand. Heat is applied indirectly, protecting the binder at the wall of the unit from scorching. Local overheating damages a binder, and controlled, indirect heating avoids it.
Big bags are handled with standard site equipment:
- Holds 1000 to 1300 kg and is lifted by its four lifting loops
- Handled by a forklift, telehandler or crane with a spreader. The site needs lifting capacity for a bag of up to 1.3 tonnes
- Lifted level, one at a time
- No special decanting equipment is needed to move a bag from the container to the melter
Pro-Road’s ASMELT bitumen melter and decanter is built for this process. Bags load onto a receiving platform inside the unit and are lifted by crane. Internal coils heat the bag indirectly. Once melted, the binder is drawn off to a distributor truck or straight into the mixing plant. If you already run a melting unit, the big-bag format loads straight into it.
Applications
Which grade suits Peru’s paving conditions?
PEN 60/70 suits Peru’s warm, dry coastal strip. PEN 85/100 suits Andean sierra routes, which climb to high altitude with wide temperature swings. Your quote confirms the selection against your project specification:
- PEN 60/70 suits general hot-mix paving on the warm, dry coastal corridor of Lima and Callao
- PEN 85/100 suits Andean sierra and highland routes, where its higher penetration resists cracking in wide temperature swings
Big bags are stored on level, drained ground, kept off the surface on pallets or dunnage. They are covered against prolonged sun and rain. Solid bitumen resists separation and stays stable in storage. The bag fabric needs protection from prolonged sun and rain.
Peru’s Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC) governs road specifications nationwide under its EG-2013 manual. EG-2013 classifies cemento asfáltico by penetration, naming grades that include PEN 60/70 and PEN 85/100. Provías Descentralizado’s Proregión programme improved 1,736 km of departmental roads across nine regions in the first quarter of 2026. Provías Nacional is separately executing works on 1,440 km of the national road network. Pro-Road’s import supply through Callao is an additional sourcing option alongside that production.
Why Pro-Road
Why buy bitumen for Peru from Pro-Road Global?
You should buy from Pro-Road Global because it controls quality, price and logistics from plant to port:
Documentation
What documentation ships with the container?
Every shipment ships with the technical datasheet for the grade supplied and the commercial invoice. It also includes the packing list and the bill of lading. Each document travels with the container from loading to discharge at Callao.
Datasheets for each grade are on our datasheets page. Ask for the datasheet of any grade with your quote request.
Commercial terms
What commercial terms does Pro-Road offer?
Pro-Road supplies Peru on CIF or CFR terms to Callao. Your quote states the incoterm, freight and delivery window.
Standard payment is in advance. Qualifying buyers can request 50% in advance and 50% against the bill of lading. Approval depends on the company profile and credit record.
FAQ
What do buyers ask most about bitumen supply to Peru?
Buyers most often ask about big-bag handling, storage, melting, order size and documentation.
How are big bags lifted and handled on site?
A big bag holds 1000 to 1300 kg and is lifted by its four lifting loops. A forklift, telehandler or crane with a spreader handles the load. Bags are lifted level, one at a time.
Can big bags be stored outdoors, and for how long?
Yes, big bags can be stored outdoors on level, drained ground, kept off the surface. They are covered against sun and rain. Solid bitumen resists separation and stays stable in storage. The bag fabric needs that protection.
How do we melt the bitumen?
You melt bitumen by heating the whole bag in a melting unit. Indirect heat protects the binder at the wall from scorching. Bags are charged whole, so nobody cuts, breaks or shovels solid binder by hand. The melted binder is then drawn off to a distributor truck or the mixing plant.
What is the minimum order quantity?
The minimum order is 24 MT, one full 40-foot container.
Which grade suits Peru’s climate?
PEN 60/70 suits general hot-mix paving on the warm, dry coastal corridor of Lima and Callao. PEN 85/100 suits Andean sierra and highland routes, where its higher penetration resists cracking in wide temperature swings. Your quote confirms the grade against your project specification.
What documentation ships with the container?
Every shipment ships with the technical datasheet for the grade supplied and the commercial invoice. It also includes the packing list and the bill of lading. Datasheets for each grade are on our datasheets page.
How long does delivery to Peru take?
Sea transit takes 7 days. Your quote confirms the sailing schedule and door-to-site timing for your order.
Do you supply cold mix asphalt?
Yes. Pro-Road produces cold mix for patching and road maintenance. Supply is in container volumes for contractors and municipalities. State your volume and destination port in your request.
Can we appoint our own inspector?
Yes. Pro-Road accepts third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or a similar body at your request. The inspection is quoted and billed separately.
