FASTEST CURRENT SAILING SCHEDULE CONFIRMED WITH YOUR QUOTE

Your quote confirms the sailing schedule and door-to-site timing for your order. Penetration-grade bitumen and asphalt cement ship in big bags of 1000 to 1300 kg, or in drums.

The minimum order is 24 MT, one full 40-foot container.

Melting

How do you melt bitumen from big bags?

You melt bitumen by heating the whole bag in a melting unit. Bags are charged whole, so nobody cuts, breaks or shovels solid binder. Heat is applied indirectly, so the binder is not scorched at the wall. Local overheating is what damages a binder, and controlled heating is what avoids it. The melted binder is then drawn off to the distributor or the plant.

Handling on site follows a few fixed steps:

  • A big bag holds 1000 to 1300 kg and is lifted by its four lifting loops.
  • A forklift, telehandler or crane with a spreader handles it, with lifting capacity for 1.3 tonnes.
  • Bags are lifted level, one at a time.
  • No special decanting equipment is needed to move a bag from the container to the melter.

Pro-Road’s ASMELT bitumen melter and decanter is built for this kind of big-bag melting.

If you already run a melting unit, the big-bag format loads straight into it.

Applications

Which penetration grade suits Paraguay’s climate?

PEN 60/70 is the medium grade that suits Paraguay’s climate. Long, hot summers and a milder, drier winter call for it in general hot-mix paving. Pro-Road also supplies CA 50/70 for Paraguay’s tenders. The country’s level, low-lying terrain removes the high-altitude thermal-cycling considerations that affect Andean markets. Your quote confirms the grade against your project specification.

Paraguay’s Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones (MOPC) runs the national road network. Its paving programme is moving on several fronts:

  • MOPC’s Plan Central 3 is paving 85 km of road across five cities in Central and Presidente Hayes departments.
  • The PY22 Concepción access rehabilitation, financed by CAF, covers more than 37 km of road.
  • MOPC has opened bidding for asphalt paving in Alto Paraná, Itapúa and Caazapá.

Pro-Road ships PEN 60/70 to Villeta as part of that same import market.

How are big bags lifted and handled on site?
